So Many Things to Do and See...
Location
Due east of Rome, the Abruzzo region descends from the highest peak (Gran Sasso) of the Appenine Mountains down to the Adriatic Sea. Once a long journey from Rome over high mountain passes, it is now only 2 hours away by autostrada and a 10 km-long mountain tunnel. One of Abruzzi's rivers which flows from mountain to sea is the Vomano, and the ancient hilltown of Guardia Vomano was built to protect and maintain access to the river.
